Since summer is coming to a close it is a great time to take in one or two more trips. This is especially true if you have children getting ready to return to school or college in a few weeks. A quick trip to the beach, the mountains or some secret get-a-way may be just what you need to hold you over through the winter months. It is hard to believe we will be coming up on fall then winter in about a month. Summer never seems to last long enough and there is never enough time to get in the automobile and go somewhere new.

It always seems like we mean to make plans to get away but with busy schedules, work and the family time slips away. Before you know it, it is time to start all over again. Sometimes you just have to slow down a bit, make your travel plans and take time off from the hustle and bustle. My wife and I are doing just that this weekend. A four day trip to the beach and it will be wonderful.

The hardest part is getting ready for the trip. I decided to take my truck this time instead of the car. That means making sure the oil is changed, put on new tires, fill it full of fuel and make sure our insurance is up to date and in full force. The worst thing that can happen is to be on a trip and have an accident, only to discover your insurance policy has lapsed. This can make for a horrible vacation and cost big bucks to straighten out.
